This Sunday at New Life!

I hope you can join us Sunday as we celebrate Mother's Day, Pentecost AND move to our seventh aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit -- Faithfulness!  The morning begins with a "Ladies Day Tea!" at 9:00 a.m. and then moves to worship at 10:00.   We'll emphasize the Holy Spirit's coming to the Apostles on the first Christian Pentecost--the "Birthday" of the Church of Jesus Christ--and we'll see how FAITHFULNESS makes all the difference as we seek to live lives in the power of the Holy Spirit TODAY!  Join us and bring a friend as we praise God, celebrate His love in our lives and share it with one another.

This Week At New Life!

After a few day interlude from Palm Sunday, Holy Week activities pick up in earnest at New Life tomorrow evening!  The "Christ in the Passover Seder" will be celebrated at the Saxonburg Firehall at 7:00 p.m.  Covenanting disciple, Mitch Tepper, who grew up as a Jew and became a follower of Jesus as an adult will be the primary leader for this time of worship and fellowship together, as we gain a deeper understanding of how the "Last Supper" was a Passover meal during which Jesus showed us the full meaning of God's grace and love for us!

Friday morning the men of the church have the opportunity to meet with men from around the area for the Good Friday breakfast at 6:00 a.m. at Saxonburg Memorial Church.  The women also have a Good Friday Brunch at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Methodist Church.  Then the Youth have their Good Friday "Pizza Breakfast" at 11:00 a.m. at the Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Our own Brad French will be speaking and New Life's worship band will provide the music.  (For more details go to Live Relevant!) Then all of us will have the opportunity to worship with our brothers and sisters in Jesus at Crossway Church, when we join them for a Good Friday time of worship at 7:00 p.m.  (Crossway is located on Davis Road in Valencia)

Easter morning we'll gather at 7:00 a.m. at 127 Knoch Road for our sunrise worship.  Then we'll celebrate Jesus' resurrection with two worship services at the South Butler Primary Center at  8:15 & 10:00 a.m.  We'll also enjoy food and fellowship at the Easter Brunch that starts at 9:15.

If you're looking for a place to worship during this Holy Week, please feel welcomed and encouraged to join us!  If you have any additional questions about who we are, where we are or what we believe check out the New Life website at:  www.newlifexn.org

This Sunday at New Life!

You'll want to be there Sunday for the conclusion of our Back to Basics series on Prayer, titled "Everybody Stay Calm!"  The message focuses on SUPPLICATION, which most of us assume means asking God for what we need.  Come and find out what it REALLY means!  I know we're supposed to get some snow, but remember:  we LIVE IN WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA!  It snows here.  2-4 inches of snow used to be "flurries" when I was growing up.  Now it's a "MONSTER storm!"  Come on---- By Sunday morning the "storm" is supposed to be past, and it'll be a pretty drive to South Butler Primary Center.  I'm looking forward to seeing YOU there at 10:00 a.m.--and remember to SPRING ahead, so you'll catch every minute!

This Sunday at New Life!

Join us this Sunday as we focus on THANKSGIVING, the third of our four-part "Back to Basics" series on prayer.  Youth and Worship Leader, Brad French's message is titled "ALWAYS Give Thanks!"   I've already read it, and you all are in for a real treat!  Many of you have told me how much you are appreciating the "Back to Basics" messages, because they are helping you to commit or re-commit to living with Jesus first in your life.  If you've been with us for these messages, then you'll want to BE THERE on Sunday as we continue to build one another up in God's word.  If you HAVEN'T been with us for these messages--the good news is that each one is a great STARTING POINT, for building yourself up in God's word, so we hope you'll BE THERE, too.

We're also celebrating the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, and at the close of worship we'll be participating in a time of commitment to living Generous Lives, based on the "40 Day Spiritual Journey to a More Generous Life," so I hope to see you there!

This Sunday At New Life!

I hope you'll be there this Sunday as we move to the second message in our four-part Back to Basics series on PRAYER.  This week's message is titled "The Antidote for Sin!"  When was the last time you saw SIN in the title of a message?  If you've ever sinned, ever felt on-going guilt for a sin, or even if you believe that sin doesn't exist, you'll want to join us as we address this vital reality, and how to overcome it!

This Sunday at New Life!

We start a new "Back to Basics" Series titled PRAYER this Sunday at New Life!  The four week series covers the classic "ACTS--Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving, Supplication" aspects of prayer.  This Sunday Brad French, our Worship and Youth Leader, will address the prayer of adoration.  His message is titled AWESOME! and the text of the day is Psalm 8.  You'll want to be there for sure as we continue to go back to basics in seeking to be ever more faithful followers of Jesus, and to provide those of you who may be wondering about Jesus a starting point for getting to know Him!  We'll also be welcoming new covenanting disciples to our church family, and you'll want to take the opportunity to get to know them, too!

This Sunday at New Life!

This Sunday brings the conclusion of our first "Back to Basics" series of 2008--Generous Giving.  The message title is Where Your Treasure Is... I hope you'll join us as we look at the ETERNAL implications of giving in our lives.  Jesus made it clear that our hearts will follow our treasure--both in this life and for eternity.  Where is your heart leaning?  How do we ensure that it leans toward Jesus?  Be there Sunday at 10:00 a.m. as we find out!

This Sunday at New Life!

You'll want to join us on Sunday as we continue our "Back to Basics" series titled Generous Giving! This Sunday the focus moves to "being rich in good works," or giving generously of our TIME!  It's often been said that the true measure of a person's priorities in life can be seen by taking a look at his calendar and check book register.  The people, places and events in which we invest our time and money ARE the priorities of our lives, regardless of what we may say.  Join us as we dig into 1 Timothy 6:17-19 again, and see God's plan for using our time and money to bring Him glory and show others His goodness!

This Sunday at New Life!

You'll want to join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m for sure as we continue our Back to Basics series: Generous Giving!  The message focuses on trusting in God rather than riches.  Jesus reminded us that we cannot serve two masters, and that the chief rival god in our lives is money.  Using an unusual illustration, we'll emphasize the importance of leaning on God and not on our "stack."  So, plan to BE THERE for sure!
