I'm Back!

We returned from Mexico on Saturday night at 11:15 p.m.  (Arrived home Sunday morning at @1:00 a.m.)  The trip to Guadalupe was productive as we see continuing progress on the Tapestries of Life Ministries' orphanage "La Casa de Las Gemas" (The House of Gems).  Thirteen of us from New Life joined with 28 others from Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania to continue construction on what will be the biggest orphanage in Mexico when it opens.  To see photos and vision statements from TLM's founders Pastors Steve and Cathy Brewer go to Tapestries of Life

We worshiped on Sunday (June 24) at El Templo del Buen Pastor (The Temple of the Good Shepherd).  The speaker of the day was a traveling evangelist, who spoke both Spanish and English--sometimes at the same time it seemed!  The message was powerful, as he had once been a gang member and was addicted to drugs and alcohol, before the Lord transformed His life in the power of Jesus Christ!  He challenged us all to let Jesus transform us.  Following worship our Mexican hosts treated us to lunch, and despite the language barrier, the fellowship between us was a reminder that in the church of Jesus Christ people from every people, tribe, tongue and nation are present.

I'll be offering some posts this week reviewing specific aspects of the trip, as well as moving into the present here in the Saxonburg area.  It's good to be back, and I'll be making up for the dirth of posts last week, with some extras this week!
