Spiderman 3

Emmy and I went to see Spiderman 3 yesterday afternoon, while Nancy and Abby went shopping.  Emmy and I had a better time at the movie than we would have if we had gone shopping, but not by much.  As Emmy put it, "It was an average Spiderman movie."  My comment is, "How many villains can one movie stand?"  The movie wasn't boring, but it did move a bit too slowly in parts.  The special effects were  impressive, especially the "Sandman."  One tangibly religious overtone was that of redemption as Spiderman literally shed his evil, parasitic, black glob from beyond, along with his own inflated ego in the bell tower of a church.  The symbolism is obvious as Spiderman perches on the outside of the tower and the camera pans up to the cross, holds on the image and then refocuses on Spiderman.  Emmy and I give it a 2.5-3 star rating.  We're not going to be buying the DVD, but we enjoyed the time together!
